Brief:
A man (Darkness) believes that the world is out of balance, that there is too much good in the world. He spends his life in the kingdom trying to persuade the people and royalty that something needs to change; seen as an extremist he is banished from the kingdom along with the few followers he had gained over the years. Over time, he builds his own kingdom and spreads his beliefs, his end goal being to change the entire world.

Years later in the kingdom, a young woman (Lili) is recognized and brought into the royal family as she has the power to listen and speak to the spirits of creatures and the forest which they worshipped. She was seen as a saint. However, it was difficult to keep her within the kingdom walls, protected from (Darkness), as the forest, literally and figuratively, called for her. It’s where she felt she belonged.

Within the forests is where she met (Jack), seen as a savage, or a child of the forest. They were not disrespected people but seen as a different species than “human” and rarely interacted with the people of the kingdom.
They were close friends. Although (Lili) could speak with the magic of the forest, living in the kingdom she didn’t learn the ways of the forest so (Jack) guided her to almost every corner of the forest, giving her the chance to discover.

Word had reached (Darkness) about (Lili) wandering in the forest and the powers she had. He knew that with her talent, he would be able to find the powerful creatures which granted the magic in their world.
